Sweater weather is here! and the outdoors is still a great place to be with all the fall colours and warmer days. BUT since our weather in Ottawa is usually super cold during the winter, as beautiful as it sometimes can be, it keeps us cooped up at home and we can tend to get stir crazy. I have compiled a list of the top 10 kid-friendly indoor things to do in Ottawa during the winter so we can adventure out into the wild without worrying about the frigid Canadian cold. I’ve also got a bunch of honourable mentions that are great for date-night or out with friends sans-children.View Full Post “Top 10 Kid-Friendly Indoor Activities To Do In Ottawa During The Winter”
First things first, a shout-out to our friend and photographer, Melissa Morrissey, for these amazing keepsakes from our wedding. Second, a HUGE thank you to our amazing venue and staff (here’s looking at you, Mina!) for their great location, customer service, and sheer willingness to make our day perfect.
Now for the showcase, Alex & Stephanie –> Married! View Full Post “Alex & Stephanie’s Wedding | Married at La Grange de la Gatineau”
Read on as I walk you through the behind the scenes of my DIY wedding, the things you can skimp on to splurge on the rest, and the things that you absolutely should outsource in order to have the best day possible with the least amount of stress. And yes, there are a few DIY tutorials for some of the decor items.
I love supporting local businesses, especially when they support local artists and help the community grow. Not only does it help our spirits, but it improves the local economy. In a huge city like Ottawa, if each of us spent an extra dollar at a small business instead of a corporation each month, that’s almost a million dollars into the local economy every single month. Talk about an amazing investment! Need a suggestion on where to spend that dollar? Try The Art House Cafe, in the heart of Chinatown, which is a two-in-one establishment: an art gallery & coffee shop — best of both worlds!
Before I get into the nitty gritty, I want to point out the obvious that the majority of the ketogenic diet is made up of fresh foods that you can find at any supermarket or grocery store: vegetables, meat & fish, seeds, select fruits. Dairy products like cream and butter are also readily available–the trick is to find the ideal ones with less chemicals or additives. As for the other more special or unique products that allow you to hack your way through a keto dessert recipe or experiment with flavors and textures, I’ve got you covered. This is a non exhaustive list of my favourite local Ottawa shops where gather all of my supplies, and a few others that I have yet to try. I would LOVE your input on other hidden gems!
